In June 2019, I wrote a short piece called “Lingering on the Margins” for Commonweal Magazine. That piece arose from my experience of living in an in-between space, neither in nor out of the Church. Finding faith communities among those who have been marginalized in the Church has been a gift in the context of multiple crises in the Church and the world.

Living on the Margins offers reflections on the moral life for an inclusive church. These reflections flow from my experience as a trained moral theologian in the Catholic Church and as a teacher of Christian ethics to college students. My work is shaped by a number of key influences including Catholic social teaching, feminist ethics, virtue ethics, and Ignatian Spirituality. I hope these thoughts will contribute to conversations about the future of the Church and its role in society. Welcome!
